SI30

Hardware to app to cloud. No handoffs.

SI30 is a systems-integration studio in Brisbane. One engineer owns every layer of your device, board to firmware to app to cloud, so the seam where device projects die isn’t there.

Development.

Hardware to app to cloud, for your device. Four fixed-price ways in.

Device projects don’t fail at the bench. They fail at the seams.

The usual setup is three teams and one integration phase bolted on the end. Hardware slips, so firmware stalls. Firmware changes an interface, so the app starts over. The schedule dies in integration, and it dies because there were three teams.

“The product is not the firmware. The product is not the app. The product is the seam between them.”

“When these layers are designed independently by separate teams or contractors, integration risk compounds at every handoff.”

“Embedded and firmware engineers are among the hardest technical hires in Australia.”

No integration phase

We hold all five layers, so there is no handoff to lose things in. Software agencies can’t answer this: they can’t lay out a board, write firmware, or deal with RF. Hardware shops stop at the connector.

Where will your device project break?

Six questions, about a minute. You get a seam count, the three risks we would look at first, and which of the four fits. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it.

The check needs JavaScript. Tell us about the device below instead.

Four things. Fixed price, scoped before we start.

Sensor Data Forensics

Your device produces numbers you don’t trust and nobody can tell you why. We measure it, isolate the actual cause, and hand back the fix with the evidence behind it.

The Missing Layer

You have two of the three and need the third. Firmware for your board, an iOS app for your device, or the cloud and OTA sitting behind both.

Prices in AUD, ex GST. Fixed price, agreed before we start. You get the deliverable, not a timesheet. Code, firmware and board files are yours. Two projects at a time, which is why A comes first. And what we do for customers is simple: streamline the workflow. There’s not much we can’t do.

1.1°

The scan that bent as the head turned

Per-frame geometry was fine at 12.7 mm plane fit, yet the accumulated scan curved. Four plausible causes, including the speaker magnets next to the IMU, each fell over when measured. The answer came from diffing the app’s own export against its render: a 90-degree roll meant to align the depth grid to the camera had been applied to the world projection. Static-wall error 14–20° before, 1.1–2.1° after, verified to 0.009 mm.

8×8

Assistive glasses, in the field

Dual ESP32 nodes, 8×8 time-of-flight depth, IMU sensor fusion, bone-conduction audio, BLE for configuration and a UART-to-UDP path for realtime. iOS app, over-the-air firmware, custom PCBs to fab-ready gerbers. In the field with a real user. International patent application filed, Australian regulatory pathway underway.

SI30 Care, the software half

An NDIS provider platform. A worker iOS app and an office web app over one database. 168,000 lines, 138 row-level security policies, 8,900+ automated tests. First release built in five days.

Made with Prompt to SolidWorks.

An in-house tool: describe the part, and the model comes back built, analysed and checked. Finite-element analysis and topology optimisation decided this shape, five load cases were verified, and the 3D printer on the bench is wired into the same chain. That wiring, tools that didn’t know each other made to work as one line, is what we do for customers: streamline the workflow. There’s not much we can’t do.
